As a lifelong Marvel fan who’s spent countless hours immersed in the universe, I must say that the latest news about Marvel Rivals is nothing short of exhilarating! The global countdown to its release feels like a cosmic clock ticking down to my personal Avengers Initiative.

As a thrilled gamer, I can’t help but feel my heart race as the countdown for Marvel Rivals, set to hit consoles and PCs this coming December, ticks away. With the recent announcement of a massive crossover collaboration between Marvel Games titles and Fortnite, it’s clear that we’re in for a treat – more tantalizing glimpses of Marvel Rivals content are popping up everywhere!

Simultaneously, in another part of the universe, a popular Guardian was about to take center stage as NetEase Games unveiled fresh news (thanks to Miller Ross) regarding this influential, compassionate figure. This coincided with the release of a fresh Rivals Assemble video featuring Mantis, a tactical hero belonging to the Strategist class. Players can expect an exciting new cosmetic for her when Marvel Rivals eventually debuts.

12 days into the worldwide anticipation for NetEase Games’ launch of their team-based PvP shooter featuring superheroes, the developers have been consistently sharing updates daily about each playable hero. Recently, they announced a new playable hero, Moon Knight, who will be available at the game’s launch for free. Additionally, they unveiled various cosmetic items for numerous characters and Mantis has just joined the roster.

On November 14th, 2024, the developer shared on various social media platforms that the empathetic Guardian would receive an extraordinary skin in the game upon its launch. This cosmetic item is modeled after the character’s appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), more specifically, her most recent portrayal.

Just like Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Star-Lord (Peter Quill), Mantis’ latest cosmetic skin is based on a suit she wore in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. As for how to acquire these recently revealed skins, it’s still uncertain whether they’ll be earned by completing Galacta’s Quest missions or if they’ll be available in the in-game store. We’ll update our pages as soon as more information is announced.
