With the 2024 Paris Olympics embodying the spirit of the times, the “Summer of Gold” podcast, focusing on the American women athletes who shone brightly at the 1996 Atlanta Games, is poised to be transformed into a mini-series.

Uzo Aduba, an Emmy award-winning actress working under her Meynon Media label, along with CBS studios, will create a TV version of the popular six-part podcast titled “Summer of Gold.” This series is executive produced by sports legends Sue Bird (a basketball star and Olympic gold medalist) and Alex Morgan (a soccer player and Olympic gold medalist), who themselves have won numerous gold medals. “Summer of Gold” takes a retrospective look at the remarkable feats achieved by American female athletes during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, showcasing the triumphs of the legendary “Magnificent Seven” gymnasts, as well as the victories of the USA women’s basketball, soccer, and softball teams. Additionally, it highlights the establishment of the WNBA following these games.
