Street Fighter Movie Finds Its M Bison, Fittingly On A Tuesday

The lineup for the live-action Street Fighter film is expanding, as it has recently secured David Dastmalchian to play M Bison. Known for roles in films like “The Life of Chuck,” “The Dark Knight,” and “Late Night With the Devil,” Dastmalchian will now assume the role of the renowned Street Fighter adversary, slipping into his character’s legendary boots.

Deadline reports that Dastmalchian’s representatives have chosen not to comment, but this news arrives amidst a burst of recent casting updates. Andrew Koji, Callina Liang, Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, Roman Reigns, and Orville Peck are all associated with the project. Last week, it was revealed that Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will portray one of Bison’s top enforcers, boxer Balrog, in the production.

In the Street Fighter video games, M. Bison is often the final opponent you fight. With his expertise in Psycho Power, he’s one of the most formidable fighters in the series. But beyond being a strong combatant, Bison also heads up the criminal organization called Shadaloo, which engages in various illegal activities as part of his scheme to conquer the world.

For the first time on the big screen, Bison made his appearance in the 1994 adaptation of Street Fighter. The late actor Raul Julia, who was struggling with stomach cancer, gave life to this character. His last role showcased a Shakespearian style, and he delivered unforgettable lines through his performance, such as the iconic speech about Tuesday.

After that, Bison has been played by Neal McDonough in the movie “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li” and Silvio Simac in the online series “Street Fighter: Resurrection”.
