As a counteraction, local Japanese residents have initiated steps against these streamers, creating a ‘wanted poster’ that includes their images and names – and now, incidents of physical confrontations are occurring.

Kick streamers attacked after argument with Japanese locals

On the 15th of February, streaming personalities LordHito and GaganTV were dining in a restaurant situated in Sapporo, Japan. After their meal, they strolled into an adjacent bar. There, they encountered a woman they had previously met and two other men. Initially, it seemed like they were engaging in a casual, jovial discussion with these individuals.

Initially, two additional individuals moved towards the streamers, where one attempted to seize GaganTV’s phone on two occasions. A dispute ensued shortly after this incident, prompting a staff member to escort them outside.

Frustrated by the turn of events, GaganTV expressed his anger as he and Hito departed, leaving Hito perplexed in their wake.

Initially, the man dressed in gray seems to be inviting them inside what looks like a bar. It turns out he is an employee there, standing behind the counter. Later, after conversing with one of the women, another individual approaches and takes Gagan’s phone.

A short while after, one of the agitated bar-goers stormed towards them, yelling and brandishing a bottle. He charged at Hito, and then targeted GaganTV, hurling the bottle at him right in the middle of the street. Another individual soon followed suit.

Despite Hito’s repeated requests for them to back off, the patron persistently trailed the streamers as they fled, verbally harassing Hito and attempting to grab him. This confrontation went on for several minutes before Hito could finally escape, eventually finding a safe spot to hide and call an Uber.

Following their pursuit of LordHito, they confronted Gagan instead, seizing his phone en route and eventually returning it to the bar.

In a series of tweets, a person named Hito shared his perspective on events, alleging that a woman at the bar had been showing romantic interest towards GaganTV. He added that this behavior was reportedly displeasing to the Japanese bartenders present.

He mentioned that he thought the Japanese bartenders were uncomfortable with a foreigner receiving all the attention from a Japanese woman, so they began to make trouble for him, but it wasn’t him personally.

On X, GaganTV similarly shared a statement detailing his account of the night’s occurrences, emphasizing that his actions didn’t involve any disrespectful or aggressive conduct that could have provoked the assault.

Surprisingly, someone from the bar staff, not involved in our discussion, took my phone. Noticing the tense atmosphere developing, my companion and I chose to exit the bar to diffuse the situation, as he recounted.

I’m speaking up to clear the air: I didn’t do anything that warranted this attack. It’s unfair and unjustifiable for anyone to experience violence while just looking to have a good time.
