Filming for the fifth and concluding season of Netflix’s popular series has come to an end, as stated on Friday. The exact air date for the final episode remains undisclosed at this time, but Netflix has assured us that we can expect the show to return in the year 2025.

All the original actors return for Season 5: Winona Ryder plays Joyce Byers, David Harbour portrays Jim Hopper, Millie Bobby Brown is Eleven, Finn Wolfhard takes on Mike Wheeler, Gaten Matarazzo plays Dustin Henderson, Caleb McLaughlin assumes Lucas Sinclair, Noah Schnapp acts as Will Byers, Joe Keery embodies Steve Harrington, Sadie Sink portrays Max Mayfield, Natalia Dyer is Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton depicts Jonathan Byers, Maya Hawke plays Robin Buckley, Brett Gelman appears as Murray Bauman, Priah Ferguson stars as Erica Sinclair and Jamie Campbell Bower steps into Vecna. The “Terminator” actress Linda Hamilton will also join the cast in a yet-to-be-revealed role.
Season 4 debuted during summer 2022, divided into two segments that were released on separate dates in May and July. The episodes exceeded standard length, with each one running over 60 minutes, and the concluding episode of Part 2 stretched beyond the two-hour mark. The season finale featured a massive showdown against the malevolent Vecna and Demogorgons in the Upside Down, during which the cherished new arrival Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) made the ultimate sacrifice to protect his friends. Although Vecna is weakened by the encounter, he remains potent enough to expand the Upside Down into Hawkins. All major characters escape unscathed, but Max falls into a coma after being manipulated by Vecna.
