As a dedicated fan of the Duffer Brothers and their exceptional storytelling abilities, I am beyond excited for their upcoming projects at Netflix! Their latest venture, Something Bad Is Going To Happen, sounds like a chilling psychological horror series that is sure to keep us on the edge of our seats.
From January to December in the year 2024, Matt and Ross Duffer are set to complete the production of Stranger Things‘ fifth and concluding season for Netflix. Simultaneously, they have prepared another project under their contract with Netflix. As per Netflix, this upcoming show is classified as a psychological horror series, titled “Something Sinister Is in Store.”
Haley Z. Boston is in charge of creating and managing the show “Something Bad Is Going To Happen” for Netflix. She will also be one of the producers, joined by the Duffer brothers and Hilary Leavitt through their production company, Upside Down Pictures. The storyline focuses on a couple during the run-up to their wedding ceremony, which Netflix refers to as a “troubled wedding.”
The Duffers were taken aback when they initially read Haley’s script. Her unique writing style is a blend of terror, wit, and the unexpected – distinctively Haley’s. We feel privileged to be working on her debut project and are excited to unveil her creative perspective to the world.
The Duffers are not only working on Something Bad Is About to Happen for Netflix, but they’re also producing at least two other projects. One of them is The Boroughs, which is set to begin filming towards the end of this year. Another project is a live-action Death Note adaptation for the streaming platform.
