As a movie enthusiast who has spent countless hours immersed in the captivating narratives of psychological thrillers, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming anthology series “Still Waters” (or “Y Golau:Dŵr” in Welsh). The stellar cast, including Mark Lewis Jones and Nia Roberts, promises a riveting experience that will undoubtedly leave me on the edge of my seat.

Actors Mark Lewis Jones (“Outlander,” “Chernobyl”) and Nia Roberts (“Hidden,” “The Crown”) have been added to the cast of the upcoming S4C/Sundance Now series titled “Still Waters” (or “Y Golau:Dŵr” in Welsh).

This is the next chapter in the Welsh psychological thriller series, with Sian Reese-Williams in the lead role, following “The Light in the Hall” (“Y Golau”).

For the second installment of its six-episode series, “Wolf” portrayed by Reese-Williams makes a comeback. This time, filming will take place in both English and Welsh languages. Alongside her, we’ll see Robert Glenister known from “Spooks”, Tom Rhys Harries from “White Lines”, and Maeve Courtier-Lilley who starred in “The Red King”.

The new season of “Murdered By My Boyfriend,” penned by Regina Moriarty, continues the story two years after its premiere. Caryl Huws (Reese-Williams) remains in Llanemlyn, but she’s determined to change her path and is now pursuing a career as a journalist instead.

As a film enthusiast, I found myself captivated by the intrigue of this tale right from the start. Intrigued by the news of our town’s reservoir expansion, I stumbled upon an unsolved case involving the death of a young man at the site’s blast nearly three decades ago. At first glance, it appeared he had perished while carrying out a terrorist act against the expansion project. However, as the story unfolded, suspicion fell on his cousin and accomplice Rhys Owen (Lewis Jones). Despite his vehement denials, Owen was convicted and sentenced to 22 years behind bars – a sentence he’s still serving today.

Huws recognizes that this tale could be just what she needs to secure her ideal position at the local newspaper – not only that, but it might also help her discover the truth.

Rhys Carter, Erin Richards, and Sion Ifan are the ones overseeing this series, currently being produced. It’s expected to air next year on S4C in Wales, Sundance Now across North America, Australia, and New Zealand, Channel 4 in the U.K., and global sales are managed by APC Studios.

The television series being produced is a collaborative effort by Long Story TV, Triongl, and APC Studios, in partnership with Channel 4, and receiving backing from the Welsh Government’s Creative Wales initiative.

I’d like to acknowledge the incredible team behind this production: Donna Wiffen, Paul Marquess, and Jo Roderick from Long Story TV; Gethin Scourfield, Nora Ostler, and Alec Spiteri from Triongl; Laurent Boissel from APC Studios; as well as Gwenllian Gravelle, head of film and drama at S4C, and Shannon Cooper, Vice President for programming at Sundance Now. Their collective effort has made this project a reality.

Boissel expressed great enthusiasm about collaborating once more with the gifted crews at Long Story TV and Triongl. They aim to build upon the achievement of ‘The Light in the Hall’ by creating an anthology series. As a producer, they are eager to delve deeper into the world of Llanemlyn, and as a distributor, they anticipate sharing this show with more regions globally.
