Steven Spielberg’s son reveals iconic director is huge Call of Duty fan

As a gamer who’s grown up admiring the works of the legendary Stephen Spielberg, it’s fascinating to learn that he shares my passion for games, particularly Call of Duty. His love for gaming and PC mastery is not just inspiring but also a testament to the fact that even visionaries like him find solace in the virtual world.

As a gaming enthusiast myself, I’m proud to share that the legend, Stephen Spielberg – my old man – is quite the Call of Duty devotee, and he’s got a soft spot for PC gaming in general.

During a chat with PC Gamer about the impending launch of Lynked: Banner of the Spark, Max Spielberg shared insights into his father’s fondness for video games, specifically highlighting the Call of Duty franchise as one he particularly enjoyed.

As a gaming enthusiast myself, I credit him for igniting my passion for it. We share this common interest, and it serves as one of our connecting points. He’ll often ask me about the latest games, particularly Call of Duty, and he’s always eager to try out the top five shooters I recommend. When I visit his house, we enjoy spending time gaming together!

It might be unexpected for many, but you may not know that Spielberg has also played a substantial role in the gaming industry. After the successful release of Saving Private Ryan, Spielberg chose to explore the realm of video games and even penned the original Medal of Honor game.

Beyond being satisfied with his significant achievement, he has continued to collaborate with Electronic Arts on various initiatives, and it appears his enthusiasm remains unwavering. This is evident in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, as the movie’s main character delves into a sprawling virtual reality world.

Later, Max shared that, regardless of his attempts, his father remains firmly entrenched in the world of Personal Computers rather than preferring gaming consoles and controllers.

“He loves Call of Duty; he enjoys the campaign. He’s big into story games, and I’m always trying to get him to play Uncharted. Y’know ‘it’s Indiana Jones, you’d appreciate this,’ and he’s always ‘I can’t do controllers, I only do keyboard and mouse.’”

It’s undecided if Max Spielberg’s father will create additional games, but given his ongoing enthusiasm, there’s always a possibility that he might.
