Steven Spielberg’s 50-year-old film, which Quentin Tarantino called “the greatest movie ever made,” will soon be available at the Peacock

It’s nearly been 50 years since the sharks in Steven Spielberg’s movie gave audiences a scare, and we’re just three weeks from the anniversary. It’s hard to believe that the original film in the iconic horror series is that old!

The original “Jaws” film, released in 1975, has become a timeless classic, enjoying great success and acclaim. Although the initial installment was highly successful and set the stage for a larger franchise, subsequent sequels failed to match the quality of the first movie.

Instead of dwelling on all the Jaws movies, let’s zero in on the original one from 1975, which won three Oscars. This movie was adapted from Peter Benchley’s novel published in 1974. The cast includes Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary, and Murray Hamilton.

Not only did the audience find the show captivating, but even renowned filmmaker Quentin Tarantino couldn’t hide his admiration. In a recent interview on the ReelBlend podcast, he declared that “Jaws” was “the best movie ever made.

In my opinion, “Jaws” stands out as the finest motion picture ever produced. While there are other films worthy of recognition, none can surpass the greatness of “Jaws”. It’s a cinematic masterpiece that sets a new standard in filmmaking. Films made prior to “Jaws” seem almost antiquated in comparison.

The filmmaker’s lavish praise simply emphasizes that the gripping masterpiece “Jaws” is truly a must-see, and starting June 15, you can easily find it streaming on Peacock, where all episodes of the series will be available as a special tribute to its upcoming anniversary.
