Stephen Graham to Play Bruce Springsteen’s Dad in Jeremy Allen White Movie ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ (EXCLUSIVE)

As a film critic with a penchant for gritty dramas and biopics, I must say that the casting of Stephen Graham as Douglas “Dutch” Springsteen in “Deliver Me From Nowhere” is nothing short of inspired. With his impressive resume, which includes roles in “Peaky Blinders,” “Gangs of New York,” and “This Is England,” Graham has proven time and again that he can bring depth and authenticity to any role he takes on.

Stephen Graham will be part of the cast for the upcoming film titled “Deliver Me From Nowhere,” where Jeremy Allen White portrays the character of Bruce Springsteen.

According to sources, Graham, known for his work in “Peaky Blinders,” “Snatch,” “Gangs of New York,” and “This Is England,” is reportedly set to portray the role of Douglas “Dutch” Springsteen, who is the father of The Boss, in an upcoming project.

The film, directed by Scott Cooper, is set to begin shooting sometime in the fall.

20th Century Studios presents “Escape Me From Nowhere,” a movie chronicling Bruce Springsteen’s creative process behind his 1982 album, “Nebraska.” This gritty, minimally produced record represented a significant artistic departure from the upbeat tones of “Born to Run” and “Darkness on the Edge of Town.

Additionally, the ensemble features Paul Walter Hauser as guitar technician Mike Batlan and Odessa Young, speculated to depict a romantic interest. According to EbMaster’s report from May, Jeremy Strong is in negotiations for the role of Jon Landau, Springsteen’s longtime manager.

Among the various films that Graham has starred in are “The Irishman”, “Rocketman”, “Venom: Let There Be Carnage”, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales”. He has been honored with two Screen Actors Guild Awards for his portrayal of Al Capone in “Boardwalk Empire”, and other television roles include “Little Boy Blue” and “Line of Duty”. Upcoming projects featuring Graham include Steve McQueen’s Academy Award-nominated film “Blitz”, Sony’s “Venom: The Last Dance”, and Johnny Depp’s “Modi”.

White, who has won two Emmys for his lead performance as Carmy Berzatto on FX’s “The Bear,” told EbMaster in June that he plans to do his own singing for “Deliver Me From Nowhere.” He has been in contact with Springsteen for the biopic and has said that the rocker has been supportive.

Deliver Me From Nowhere” is inspired by Warren Zanes’ book with the same title. The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein (known for “The Maze Runner” trilogy), Eric Robinson, Cooper, Zanes, and Scott Stuber are producers for this project. Springsteen and Landau are also actively participating in its development.
