Stephen Fry Joins British Sports Comedy Drama ‘Touche’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Stephen Fry is set to take on his next project, securing a part in the upcoming independent British movie titled “Touché.

The movie, titled “Kaur,” revolves around Parvinder Shergill, a young British South Asian Sikh woman, whose story unfolds as she embarks on a transformative journey by venturing into the realm of fencing. This film is categorized as a heartwarming blend of family-oriented comedy, sports drama, and inspiration.

Shergill, not only involved in the creation of “Touche” as a co-writer, co-director, and co-producer, but also appears on screen as an actor, sharing the limelight with a talented cast featuring Fry, Nina Wadia, Shazia Mirza, Paul Chowdhry, Matthew Lewis, Kayleigh-Paige Rees, and Steven Pinder.

The movie titled “Shergill’s Film” was jointly directed with Leif Johnson and written collaboratively with Juggy Sohal. Shergill serves as a producer for Pinder Productions, with Kayleigh-Paige Reese of Raspberry Films also acting as co-producer. Among the executive producers are Shams A Akhtar, Gina Bariah, and Jeevan Singh. Rowan Bradley handled the music production for this project, and it was made in collaboration with the Knightsbridge Fencing Club based in London.

Sir Stephen Fry, formerly known as just Fry, received his knighthood this year in the New Year’s Honors list of 2024. Earlier in the year, he was presented with a lifetime achievement award at the U.K. and Ireland Honors ceremony held at the Newport Beach Film Festival. His most recent major film role was portraying Lena Dunham’s Holocaust survivor father in the movie “Treasure,” which made its debut at the Berlin Film Festival.

Last year, Shergill unveiled “Break a Leg,” a witty British indie mockumentary about the realm of drama schools, which she both penned and produced through her company, Pinder Productions. She collaborated on this project with Gina Bariah from Harrik Publishing and Productions.

In “Break a Leg,” character Shergill is set to portray Jazzy, a woman who’s vying for the role against her fellow drama students, aiming to secure an agreement with their ideal agent as a heartfelt Christmas aspiration.
