We thought No Man’s Sky had finished receiving updates for the year, especially after two huge additions. But it turns out Sean Murray’s mysterious door emojis weren’t about a new expedition – they were actually teasing the ‘BREACH’ update! Let’s take a look at everything that’s new in the game.
Spacewalks and abandoned ships in No Man’s Sky
The Voyager update for No Man’s Sky finally let players fully customize their starships, which fans had wanted for a long time. While BREACH isn’t quite as groundbreaking, it’s a good addition that expands on the starship customization feature nicely.

The BREACH update lets you investigate derelict spaceships and recover components, giving you access to new ship-building options. It’s more than just collecting debris now – you can actually venture inside these abandoned vessels to explore them.
We’ve upgraded the workshop, so you can now build even larger and more imaginative ships. We can’t wait to see what the community creates next – their previous builds were incredible, ranging from floating forklifts to replicas of the Nokia 3310!
As always, the latest update includes a new expedition with plenty of rewards. This one takes us to a forgotten corner of the universe to investigate a lost ship and its fate. We’ll be scavenging shipwrecks to find large structural parts and unique, glowing components with an Atlas theme.
Now that the Worlds Part 2 update added the unique purple star systems earlier this year, the BREACH expedition is encouraging players to join forces and discover them. These sectors feature everything from massive gas giants to planets with deep oceans and rugged terrain, making them ideal for some thrilling Halloween explorations.
