Summary
- An internal presentation suggests Stellar Blade 2 will be released next year.
- This is a quick turnaround for a sequel.
- Shift Up is also working on something called Project Witches.
Although we’re a few weeks away from the PC launch of Stellar Blade, it seems that its developer, Shift Up, is already deep into the development process for the sequel.
Based on information from a presentation dated May 16th, it appears that Shift Up intends to launch a follow-up to their popular game, Stellar Blade, prior to the year 2027. Kudos to Insider Gaming for spotting this!
The Return of Eve?

On slide 19 of this presentation you’ll find details about Shift Up’s projects, including Stellar Blade: Goddess of Victory – Nikke and Project Witches. It seems that while the main focus is currently on Goddess of Victory: Nikke, there appears to be plans for a new version of Stellar Blade set to release before 2027.
It’s possible that Shift Up could still release the game this year, but given the tight timeline, it appears rather improbable they have developed a sequel so quickly.
2026 arrives sooner than expected for the action-adventure game, given that Stellar Blade was launched in the previous year, making the PC release date, June 11, a mere 15 months after its debut.

At Shift Up, since our internal presentations aren’t exclusively for public consumption, it’s important to note that the timelines we’ve shared might not be definitive. There could be a scenario where the launch of Stellar Blade 2 gets delayed and happens in 2027 or even later.
The team seems to be developing a project named “Project Witches.” Considering Shift Up’s history of featuring sexually charged women in their games, it’s likely that this new title could follow similar themes as Goddess of Victory: Nikke or Stellar Blade.
At its launch, Stellar Blade garnered moderately positive reviews, averaging 82 points from critics on OpenCritic. Our editor-in-chief, Stacey Henley, assessed the game last year and described it as “solid with moments of intrigue,” noting that while the combat was both unique and gratifying, it could also be monotonous and irritating in her 3.5 out of 5 review.
