As a fervent supporter of second chances and personal growth, I am thrilled about Stassi Schroeder‘s return to the “Vanderpump” universe. Her journey over the past few years has been nothing short of inspiring, as she’s faced her mistakes, learned from them, and emerged stronger.
Previously known “Vanderpump Rules” actor Stassi Schroeder is set to appear in Season 2 of Hulu’s “Vanderpump Villa,” teaming up once again with her ex-boss from SUR, Lisa Vanderpump. Not only will she be part of the show’s ensemble, but Schroeder has also struck a deal with the streaming service. Her initial project under this agreement is the creation of a humorous half-hour docuseries titled “Stassi Says.”
The unexpected reappearance of Scheder in the “Vanderverse” is notable given that she and fellow “Vanderpump Rules” co-star Kristen Doute were dismissed from the show in 2020 due to racially insensitive actions towards their castmate Faith Stowers. In 2018, they falsely implicated Stowers when they reported her to the police after seeing a photo in Daily Mail of a black woman wanted for robbery in LA, but it was later discovered that the woman in the article was not Stowers.
Approximately two years ago, Stowers disclosed a past incident through an Instagram Live broadcast, which led to the termination of Schroeder and Doute from “Vanderpump Rules.” Following their dismissal, Schroeder – a cast member since the show’s debut in 2013 for eight seasons – was subsequently dropped by her talent agency, UTA, and her public relations firm, Metro Public Relations.
Since then, Schroeder has once again gained public prominence following her dismissal. In 2022, she published a second book titled “Off With My Head,” where she endeavored to acknowledge and rectify past errors (there were numerous ones). She expressed deep regret, stating, “I fully grasped and completely comprehended how mistaken I was.” Schroeder continued, “I couldn’t believe that I had doubted the Black Lives Matter movement. The revelation that I was one of those problematic ‘Karens’ who would say ‘All lives matter,’ was a hard truth to accept.”
Back in 2019, my book “Next Level Basic” was a New York Times bestseller, much like “Off With My Head.” Next month, I’ll be releasing my third book, and my podcast “Stassi” has been keeping me relevant, especially as I weigh in on the latest “Vanderpump Rules” drama, such as the Scandoval.
Following the show “Vanderpump Rules,” several fans have been eagerly calling for Schroeder to appear in its spinoff, “The Valley.” This series debuted in March this year and features her former castmates Doute, Jax Taylor (with whom she had a relationship), and his wife Brittany Cartwright. In production for its second season, the show was recently renewed in May, making it Bravo’s most-watched freshman series in almost a decade. As Doute, along with Taylor and Cartwright who were also let go from “Vanderpump Rules” after its eighth season, have returned to the Bravo family, fans on social media believe that Schroeder’s sharp humor would add to the already captivating dynamics of “The Valley.”
Despite numerous invitations, Schroeder, living with her husband Beau Clark and their two kids, has consistently expressed no desire to be part of the show. In a conversation with Jeff Lewis on his SiriusXM program in January, Schroeder stated that she was approached to create a promotional video for “The Valley”, but her internal compass resolutely said “no” – a firm refusal indeed. She further explained that it’s not her social circle and that she prefers to maintain the life she currently enjoys, as she is content with it.
So this announcement appears to answer that question for good.
On the reality TV show “Vanderpump Rules,” the relationship between Schroeder and Vanderpump was inconsistent. Regarding her employees, who initially worked for her at Sur, her West Hollywood restaurant, she generally showed preference towards the male cast members and often displayed a dismissive attitude towards the females.
However, towards Schroeder, Vanderpump appeared to harbor a reluctant respect over time. She even defended Schroeder after her dismissal, stating she would have granted her another opportunity. More recently, in June on Amanda Hirsch’s “Not Skinny but Not Fat” podcast, Vanderpump commended Schroeder once more and disclosed they still keep in touch. This might explain their current relationship.
Today, Hulu unveiled some information about “Stassi Says.” This production is a collaboration between Schroeder and ex-producers of “Vanderpump Rules,” Erin Foye and Jenna Rosenfeld. The show will revolve around Schroeder and an ensemble of fresh, humorous, and turbulent characters, each grappling with identity dilemmas and critical junctures in their lives – and it’s Stassi who must keep them all on track. Using Hulu’s term, this blend of documentary and comedy will be overseen by Rosenfeld, Foye, Schroeder, and Scout Productions.
Details about Season 2 of “Vanderpump Villa” are forthcoming, including the premiere date, cast members, and shooting location. The series is overseen by Vanderpump under her Villa Rosa label. Bunim/Murray Productions, a subsidiary of Banijay Americas, is responsible for production.
