Stardew Valley's New Update Makes Getting Foraging Experience Much Easier

As a seasoned Stardew Valley enthusiast with countless hours under my belt, I must say that the recent 1.6 update has truly breathed new life into the game! The ease of gaining Foraging experience is nothing short of revolutionary, and I find myself venturing deeper into the woods than ever before in search of those elusive resources. From digging up special dirt spots to chopping twigs, there’s a sense of excitement and discovery that wasn’t present before.

In the latest update for Stardew Valley, version 1.6, players on consoles and mobile devices can now enjoy the same features as PC users, following a 1.6.12 update with bug fixes and additional content for PC. One of the most intriguing adjustments in this release is that it significantly simplifies the process of accumulating Foraging experience due to an increase in available methods for earning it.

Now, in addition to earning Foraging experience by chopping down trees and stumps, players can also gain it by unearthing specific dirt patches, panning for resources, collecting gingers, and chopping twigs. Previously, only chopping trees and stumps provided Foraging experience, but with the latest update, these actions will yield a slightly increased amount.

Alongside the fresh methods for gaining Foraging experience, the 1.6.12 update also brings a minor tweak: Now, Sandy’s store offers basic pants, thereby adding a bit more diversity to the items available at the Desert Shop.

Apart from the significant updates, there are numerous bug corrections, such as resolving issues with LAN multiplayer crashes, erroneous sound effects, and game crashes.

In the 1.6 update, some minor glitches were present at launch on both consoles and mobile devices. New players on Meadowlands farms encountered an issue where opening the chicken coop door for the first time would inadvertently cause them to permanently lose their chickens. Developer ConcernedApe humorously suggested that a “roaming coyote” was responsible for the bug, consuming the unfortunate fowl. Fortunately, this problem has now been fixed with an update.

Alert: Experiencing a problem – if you open the chicken coop on the first day of setting up your farm in the meadowlands, your chickens might vanish. To prevent this, keep the door shut for at least one day. We’re working to resolve the issue. Background info: A wild coyote roams the farm…
