During an interview on the TigerBelly podcast, Concerned Ape hinted at potential future plans for Stardew Valley 2. To put it simply, he stated, “I may create Stardew Valley 2 at some point.”
While the concept undeniably sparks enthusiasm among fans, it’s important to note that it isn’t without its challenges. Therefore, let’s temper our excitement for now. It’s worth remembering that he also pointed out that developing an entirely new game is considerably more complex than expanding upon the existing Stardew Valley.
According to his statement on GamesRadar, he finds it simpler to expand Stardew Valley rather than creating an entirely new game from the ground up.
When questioned about whether he requires payment for updates, the creator additionally expressed that he’s indifferent towards money.
Speaking honestly, as if avoiding any signaling of virtue, he clarified that financial gains have never been his primary or key motivation. Instead, what truly matters to him is seeing people enjoy and love the game itself.
Currently, the developer is preoccupied with the forthcoming Haunted Chocolatier game, so news on Stardew Valley 2 might be delayed. However, rest assured, there’s still a chance for its release in the future.
