Star Wars Outlaws Lead Actress Wants To Bring Her Character To Live-Action

As a seasoned gamer with decades of virtual adventures under my belt, I’ve seen characters come and go, some leaving indelible marks on our collective gaming psyche. Kay Vess, the protagonist of Star Wars Outlaws, is one such character that has caught my attention.

As a lifelong Star Wars fan, I am thrilled about the introduction of Kay Vess, the new main character in the upcoming video game Star Wars Outlaws. Having been captivated by the galaxy far, far away since I was a child, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia as I eagerly await her debut. Humberly Gonzalez, who brings Kay to life through motion capture, has an impressive resume in voice acting and has lent her likeness and voice to this character.

When asked by VGC if she would play the role of Kay in a live-action adaptation, Gonzalez enthusiastically agreed. She expressed her excitement about the prospect of portraying a genuine human connection to the world, confident that she has the abilities to make it happen. There’s a strong feeling of accountability attached, but she also feels privileged and prepared to be a part of this franchise.

It’s not unusual for actors like Gonzalez to look similar to their characters in Star Wars video games. For example, Janina Gavankar portrayed Iden Versio in Star Wars Battlefront II, and Cameron Monaghan is the main character in both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor as Cal Kestis. Both Gavankar and Monaghan have impressive acting resumes, but neither has taken on their roles in live-action productions thus far.

Recenty, TopMob got an up-close look at the development of Star Wars Outlaws, providing us with a deeper understanding of Kay’s character. Gaming enthusiasts can expect to delve further into her story when Star Wars Outlaws launches for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on August 30.
