2023 was a fantastic year for Star Trek, with exciting news like the Strange New Worlds series and plans for a new movie. While we look forward to what’s coming in 2026 and beyond, it’s worth remembering the highlights of the past year. I was particularly surprised to learn how much fans spent on Star Trek props, and what the most expensive item was!
TrekMovie.com recently gathered the most expensive items sold at online auctions in 2025, and as always, there were a lot of interesting things up for grabs. While nothing was quite as surprising as the Klingon chest piece from Star Trek: Discovery that sold a few years ago, I was amazed by how much one fan paid for a prop from a particularly memorable The Next Generation episode.

Picard’s Flute From “The Inner Light” Was The Biggest Star Trek Auction Item In 2025
Many fans consider “The Inner Light” to be a standout episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, and I was surprised to learn how much a fan recently paid for the Ressikan Flute featured in it. The flute was incredibly meaningful to Captain Picard during the episode, as he experienced a lifetime as “Kamin” and kept it as a cherished reminder afterward.
This is definitely a significant piece of Star Trek memorabilia, but I’m surprised someone paid $403,200 for it. That amount is more than all other major Star Trek items sold this year combined, with money to spare. Maybe the news about Patrick Stewart potentially retiring fueled the high price?

Many Other Star Trek Items Sold In 2025
In 2025, a variety of props and costumes from Star Trek were auctioned off, featuring many items fans will recognize from the shows and movies available on Paramount+. Here’s a summary of the items sold and their final prices.
- Kirk’s Mirror Universe Uniform – $52,500
- USS Enterprise lineage from The Motion Picture – $10,710
- Photon Collector From The Voyage Home – $23,800
- Seven Of Nine’s Purple Jumpsuit – $10,240
- Matt Jeffries’ original Enterprise design drawings – $31,000
- Uhura’s TOS Miniskirt – $45,000
- Wrath Of Khan Spock Ears – $8,190
- Enterprise cel from The Animated Series – $750
- Genesis Device From The Wrath Of Khan – $88,200
- Captain Janway Uniform – $15,120
- Gene Roddenberry’s working draft of “The Cage” – $21, 250
The high price of the Genesis Device doesn’t surprise me – it was central to a truly iconic Star Trek film. Similarly, it’s no shock Kirk’s Mirror Universe uniform fetched a lot; William Shatner and the original Star Trek series still have a huge following.
I was surprised at how damaged Spock’s ears were, particularly since they came from the film where his character died – though you wouldn’t be able to tell that just by looking at them. It’s possible multiple prosthetic ears were made for the movie, but that’s just my guess. Overall, it’s fantastic that Star Trek memorabilia did so well at auction this year.

Paramount+ offers a wide range of entertainment, including all things Star Trek. You can choose between two monthly plans: the Essential plan at $7.99/month or the ad-free Premium plan at $12.99/month. For the best value, consider an annual subscription at $59.99.
You can find all things Star Trek on Paramount+. I’m really excited about the upcoming premiere of Starfleet Academy and hoping to hear about more new shows and movies soon!
