Star Citizen is an extraordinary game like no other, and its community is a hotbed of varied opinions. Some admire it as a pioneering and revolutionary endeavor, while others see it as an endless money-making scheme destined to remain unfinished. The ambiguity in their refund policy, missed deadlines, and controversial monetization decisions, such as the recent Flight Blades saga, certainly stir up controversy. Yet, Cloud Imperium Games continues to reap profits year after year, offering numerous avenues for support – like the Concierge system they introduced back in 2018, catering to big spenders. However, this exclusive VIP experience has also attracted criticism as of late.
Inside Star Citizen’s Concierge club
Concierges, or members of the Chairman’s Club, are individuals who have invested significantly in the online store associated with Star Citizen. The system has six levels, and the benefits you receive depend on the amount you’ve contributed. Each level unlocks unique perks to suit different spending capacities.
- High Admiral – when you spent at least $1,000
- Grand Admiral – for those past $2,500
- Space Marshal – if you’ve spent at least $5,000
- Wing Commander – unlocked at $10,000
- Praetorian – for the $15,000+ crowd
- Legatus Navium – the top tier, at a whopping $25,000 and more

Beyond the benefits, top-tier players are privy to special deals and advantages, such as priority customer service. However, recently, these perks don’t seem to hold the same value they once did.
Currently, there’s quite the discussion brewing on Reddit (as it often does) regarding the standard response time for Concierge members. User Sensitive-Stage_3816 has sparked curiosity by inquiring about how long others have had to wait to hear back from the VIP support team, as they themselves have been waiting a full week without any follow-up.
The answers are not really optimistic:
I reached out to customer support a total of 5 times, with 3 priority and 2 standard requests. The standard issues were swiftly resolved within a short timeframe. However, the priority issues were quite challenging.

Just the other day, or perhaps a few days back, I’m not entirely sure about the exact timing. Prior to that, it had been around four to five days. As far as I can recall, nothing out of the ordinary happened during those times.

Hello! Typically, it takes a week or two for us to get back to each other. However, it seems that timing might play a part here, as you contacted me at the end of their busy period, which I presume is when they have high demand. I reached out to them 19 days ago, and it took them five days to respond, followed by another two days to resolve the issue.

It appears that an increasing number of individuals are expressing the idea that there’s not much distinction between Concierge support and the standard system nowadays. Many gamers have recalled when Concierge service met their expectations. However, as the Star Citizen community has been expanding rapidly, it seems like Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) may be struggling to maintain the level of service they once provided. When the exclusive member club was first established, they had a separate support team dedicated to them, but that was quite some time ago. Now, even they find themselves waiting in line just as everyone else does.
