Most new cast members on The Real Housewives need time to adjust, but Stacey Rusch was instantly herself from the moment she joined Potomac. She arrived on the show during a season that needed a boost, and she quickly made it worth watching – especially because of her funny reactions to the drama. She maintained the polished speaking style from her popular QVC home-shopping videos, which both surprised her castmates and delighted viewers. Instead of trying to fit the typical “Housewife” mold, Rusch embraces her unique personality and remains calm no matter what challenges come her way, whether it’s defending her divorce or facing criticism over her potato salad. Like she quoted Maya Angelou at her first reunion, she continues to rise above it all.
It really hit me that I’d succeeded when Andy Cohen called me endlessly entertaining. That was a huge moment for me – like I’d officially made it! A compliment from him is a real blessing.
If you had to pick one moment on screen that really stands out as defining your career so far, what would it be?” My answer is, “Still I rise.” I’m grateful to Maya Angelou for the inspiration.

It’s difficult to pick just one! Dr. Maya Angelou has given us so much incredible work – poems, books, and inspiring words – that I appreciate it all. I admire everything she created and can’t single out a favorite.
As someone who’s been working in television for ages, I get asked about my first paycheck a lot. Honestly, it feels like I’ve been cashing checks for years – it’s hard to even pinpoint that very first one! It wasn’t a single, defining moment, but rather the start of a long career of receiving them.
If I had to pick five words to describe how I come across on screen, I’d say joyful, fun, kind, compassionate, and a bit quirky.
I felt most misunderstood when people doubted my cooking skills, specifically when they questioned my potato salad. It’s frustrating because I can cook, and I’m actually quite good at it!
If you could magically trade lives with someone on a reality TV show right now, who would it be? I wouldn’t want to switch with anyone. I’m really happy with my life and feel very fortunate.
Who on reality TV is truly authentic, and who puts on a show? Gizelle Bryant is consistently herself, both on and off camera – what you see is what you get. On the other hand, Ashley Darby’s personality seems to change depending on whether the cameras are rolling, making her behavior unpredictable and a bit inconsistent.
Does every successful reality TV show require someone to play the villain? It seems like every show has one, and sometimes certain people naturally fall into that role. In this case, everyone knows who we mean: Gizelle.
If someone wants to become a reality TV star, my advice would be simple: be authentic. Always stay true to yourself and don’t let anyone try to change who you are.
If I were on The Traitors, I’d team up with Angela Oakley from Atlanta. We’d be a really effective pair.
If you had to pick the greatest rivalry ever on reality TV, it would likely be between Nene Leakes and Kim Zolciak. I personally found their conflicts really entertaining, and it’s great that they’ve become friends now. I always try to focus on the good side of things.
