Lotte Entertainment has closed multiple territory deals for the upcoming thriller “Streaming,” starring “Squid Game 2” actor Kang Ha-neul, ahead of its March 21 release in South Korea. Lotte revealed the news at the Hong Kong FilMart.
The high-concept thriller has been purchased by Fine Films (Japan), MovieCloud (Taiwan), Clover Films (South East Asia), Lotte Entertainment Vietnam, Jokers Film (France), Filmbridge (Mongolia) and Emphasis Video (Global Inflight Distribution).
In “Streaming,” Kang plays Woo Sang, Korea’s top crime channel streamer on the platform WAG, where only the highest-ranked content creator receives all donation earnings. After analyzing unsolved true crimes leads to massive popularity followed by a controversial downfall, Woo Sang attempts to reclaim his crown by tracking the notorious Hemline Serial Killer in real time — only to discover the killer has been watching his broadcast.
The film marks the feature directorial debut of Cho Jang-ho and is presented by Lotte Entertainment with production by VeryGoodStudio in association with TH Story.
Kang, who broke out internationally with Netflix’s “Squid Game 2” following his acclaimed performances in “When the Camellia Blooms” and “Midnight Runners,” continues to cement his status as one of Korea’s most bankable stars with this thriller that plays on the country’s robust streaming culture.
As a movie critic, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about one of the upcoming blockbusters from Lotte Entertainment. It’s called “Holy Night: Demon Hunters” and is scheduled to hit theaters on April 30. This film promises to be an adrenaline-pumping occult action flick that I can hardly wait to see!
The film stars international action favorite Don Lee (also known as Ma Dong-seok), whose credits include “Train to Busan” and Marvel’s “Eternals,” alongside Seo Hyun and David Lee. Directed by Lim Dae-hee, the supernatural action thriller follows a specialized team of demon hunters with supernatural powers called Holy Night, who are recruited by desperate police to battle a devil-worshipping criminal network causing chaos in Seoul.
Lotte Entertainment’s collection features the blockbuster “Along with the Gods” series, international sensations like “#Alive” from 2020 and “Badland Hunters” in 2024, along with Oscar contenders such as “Escape From Mogadishu” (released in 2021) and “Concrete Utopia” (from 2023).
Since launching its TV production division in 2019, Lotte has expanded its focus to develop content across multiple platforms while continuing to build its international distribution network.
