‘Squid Game’ Season 3 Trailer: Player 456 Finally Discovers Front Man’s Betrayal

Netflix has released a trailer for the third and final season of “Squid Game.”

As I eagerly anticipate Season 3, I find myself once again stepping into the shoes of Gi-hun aka Player 456, portrayed by Lee Jung-jae, who is now determined more than ever to put an end to this treacherous game. The haunting memory of his dearest friend, Jung-bae (Lee Seo-hwan), cruelly taken from him by the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) in the chilling finale of Season 2, serves as the fuel for Gi-hun’s relentless pursuit. The clock is ticking, and I can hardly wait to see how this heart-wrenching journey unfolds.

In the teaser, Gi-hun comes across the shocking revelation about Front Man’s real identity – it turns out to be his fellow competitor and friend from Season 2, In-ho, who had been masquerading as a participant in the Squid Game. The audience has been privy to this information earlier. As the trailer opens, Gi-hun is seen questioning a group of guards angrily, “Why didn’t you end me? Why did you spare my life? Why did you let me survive?” The guards manage to subdue him, and In-ho looks on.

The series ‘Squid Game’ premiered on Netflix in September 2021 and rapidly gained immense popularity. With its first season, it ranks as the second most-watched television season ever streamed on Netflix, while its second season, released in December 2024, became the third most-viewed after its premiere. The only Netflix title that has attracted more viewers is Season 1 of ‘Wednesday’.

The Korean drama was brought to life by Hwang Dong-hyuk, who is responsible for writing, directing, and producing the series. In addition to Lee Jung-jae and Lee Byung-hun, this talented cast includes Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Jo Yuri, Lee David, and Roh Jae-won.

At the heart of Netflix’s annual fan extravaganza, Tudum, held in Los Angeles on a bustling Saturday, I had the privilege to witness the unveiling of an exciting new trailer. The stars themselves graced the stage – Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Park Sung-hoon, Kang Ae-sim, and none other than Choi Seung-hyun, better known as T.O.P – adding a personal touch to the grand event.
