Square Enix releases Final Fantasy IX 25th Anniversary Special Movie

Today, I’m in the gaming zone celebrating a major milestone! As I sit here in Japan, it’s July 7th, and Square Enix has gifted us fans with a commemorative film for the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX. It’s a fantastic way to relive those classic moments and look forward to what’s next in this epic series!

The video is live now on YouTube. Originally released for PlayStation in Japan on July 7, 2000, Final Fantasy IX is now making a comeback with this special movie. In conjunction with its release, Square Enix has invited fans to share what FFIX means to them via social media. This initiative comes after the launch of their 25th Anniversary website where you can pre-order merchandise like the Final Fantasy IX 25th Anniversary Vinyl – Timeless Tale and more.

Fifteen years after Final Fantasy IX reached its twentieth anniversary, we reconnected with several key developers to discuss its lasting impact. Meanwhile, you can find Alex’s personal reflections on Final Fantasy IX, fifteen years later, right here.

The latest version of Final Fantasy IX has been released on various platforms, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, personal computers (PC), as well as for mobile devices like iOS and Android.
