Microsoft has a little treat for your Monday blues: A purple dragon is on the way. Specifically, Spyro Reignited Trilogy will come to Xbox Game Pass (Standard and Ultimate) tomorrow, November 12. The package contains the first three games in the franchise–Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage, and Year of the Dragon–and gives them a visual overhaul.
Looking back at the recently unveiled Game Pass additions for November, it appears that Microsoft has secretly been holding Spyro Reignited Trilogy in reserve as an unexpected surprise. This newly added game is one of the latest acquisitions from Microsoft’s purchase of Activision Blizzard to join their subscription service.

The acquisition resulted in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 being released on Game Pass on its launch day. This newest addition to the FPS series has broken records with its debut. As reported by the game’s creative director, Miles Leslie, the availability of Black Ops 6 on the subscription service is attracting players who had previously stopped playing.
Speaking of Spyro the Dragon, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy initially debuted in 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One. Subsequently, a year after, the remastered versions of these games became available on Nintendo Switch and personal computers in 2019. Notably, the original Spyro games were exclusive to PlayStation consoles from 1998 to 2000, with Spyro serving as the mascot for Sony’s gaming platform during that period.
