1047 Games made an announcement today, confirming that a sequel to Splitgate is in development and is anticipated to release as early as 2025. The creators are committed to raising the bar in the 4v4 shooter genre with this upcoming title, aiming to surpass the achievements of its predecessor.
The concept of Splitgate 2 remains similar to its 2021 predecessor: a fusion of Halo and Portal elements. Imagine Halo’s classic gameplay blended with Portal’s mind-bending puzzles. It may sound unusual, but the original game managed to attract over 20 million downloads! Nevertheless, Splitgate 2 offers fresh content to justify an update.
In an exciting update, Three distinct factions are introduced in Splitgate 2: Agile Aeros, Time-manipulating Meridian, and Powerful Sabrask. Players can now select a gameplay style that suits their preference based on the Steam description. Each faction comes with unique roles: Aeros for swiftness, Meridian for time manipulation, and Sabrask for brute force. Additionally, developers are adding new arenas, weapons, and modes to offer fresh gaming experiences.
