Spirit Halloween’s Hawk Tuah costume goes viral & viewers are split

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for pop culture and viral sensations, I must confess that the Hawk Tuah girl costume frenzy has left me utterly bewildered and somewhat amused. Having grown up in an era where costumes were mostly based on comic book characters or iconic movie figures, this new phenomenon of a seemingly ordinary phrase taking center stage is a refreshing twist.

The Hawk Tuah girl costume sold by Spirit Halloween is currently trending on social media platforms, leaving people unsure of their reactions towards it.

2024’s Halloween celebration is fast approaching, and Spirit Halloween has already set up shop within the nearby vacant commercial space.

Year after year, it has established itself as the top destination where folks purchase their decorations and costumes, unveiling fresh designs and merchandise annually. In 2024, some of these innovative designs have gained immense popularity on social media platforms.

Hawk Tuah, character created by Haliey Welch, teamed up with Spirit Halloween to sell officially licensed “Hawk Tuah” costumes and goods. These items swiftly became popular on social media platforms, causing some perplexity among users as to the necessity of dressing as a character they already resemble.

On October 3rd, Welch shared pictures of the Spirit Halloween merchandise she had, which included two Michael Myers-like jumpsuits, a branded shirt, flag, and other items. She was showcasing them.

The merch quickly made its way around social media, with quite a few videos going viral on TikTok.

At the tail-end of September, Matthewables generously posted a captivating video that swiftly sparked a wave of reactions among us viewers. The video soared to an impressive view count of almost 2 million!

“It was only funny for like a day,” one user commented.

Another said: “This is getting way outta hand.”

A third commented that ‘If she doesn’t sell this, I won’t talk about it’ is exceptionally well-written,” was the remark regarding the slogan on the item.

Previously, Haliey Welch’s ‘Hawk Tuah’ merchandise also gained widespread popularity, not for the first time. Just after her catchphrase video became a hit online, she collaborated with a local hat company to create her own line of products that generated an impressive income.

After that point, she’s consistently contributed substantial sums of money and food to dog shelters, and she’s also started her own podcast.

Shortly following the debut of her ‘Talk Tuah’ program, Haliey Welch swiftly climbed up Spotify’s podcast rankings, securing a position just below the top three in the United States.
