Unfortunately, you weren’t able to secure tickets for the highly anticipated comeback tour of the legendary band Spinal Tap. However, don’t despair! The band has captured their latest journey on film and is releasing a new documentary titled “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues” for their 41st anniversary. This sequel follows Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins, and Derek Smalls as “one of England’s loudest bands” embarks on another tour, this time sharing the stage with fellow legends such as Paul McCartney and Elton John.
This new documentary comes after the critically acclaimed 1984 film “This Is Spinal Tap“, which will be returning to cinemas before the release of “Spinal Tap II” this summer. As before, the visionary documentarian Marty DiBergi is at the helm. Here’s what we know about the project so far.
Who’s back?
Once more, Rob Reiner is directing the camera, with Marty DiBergi joined by Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer in their familiar roles as part of the humorous band. It has been confirmed that music legends Paul McCartney, Elton John, and Garth Brooks (despite recent sexual-assault allegations) will make guest appearances, following reports from 2023.
This version aims to maintain the original’s clarity and informative tone while using simpler and more natural language for a smoother reading experience.
