A new rumor is circulating about Spider-Man’s next Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) team-up movie. It hints that Spider-Man will join forces with a beloved Marvel hero in a future film. Although both characters are popular with fans, they haven’t shared the screen together in a movie yet.
Spider-Man and Wolverine crossover could happen
A rumor suggests Spider-Man might team up with Wolverine in a future movie. The information comes from MyTimetoShineHello, a source known for reliable industry news, who posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Marvel Studios and Sony are considering a team-up film featuring the two heroes.
They didn’t mention which Spider-Man they’re planning to use in the movie. It’s currently unknown whether it will be Tom Holland, or if Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be involved.
Currently, this is just a rumor with no confirmation. Neither Marvel Studios nor Sony has officially announced any plans for this movie.
This new rumor follows recent speculation that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man will be the central characters in the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars movie.
Hugh Jackman recently shared that Wolverine was almost featured in the very first Spider-Man movie directed by Sam Raimi. According to Jackman, a cameo appearance was planned, but it fell through because the filmmakers couldn’t get the costume needed for the character.
Recently, there’s been a lot of talk about Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man appearing in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. About two months ago, reports surfaced that these two actors, along with Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, would have a major role and share a lot of screen time in the film.
MyTimetoShineHello announced on X that the two characters will battle as their universes collide. They previously reported that the fight will happen in the same location as the opening scene of the movie Doomsday.
Although rumors suggest Hugh Jackman and Tobey Maguire might appear, their involvement in the movie, scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, hasn’t been officially confirmed.
