It’s been close to two years since the wall-crawler graced the big screen in the animated movie “Across the Spider-Verse“. However, he hasn’t been absent from our screens entirely; notably, the live-action series “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man ” made its debut on Disney+ this year.

Disney Plus has officially announced that “Across the Spider-Verse” will make its debut on their platform this coming Friday, May 1. This significant addition marks the beginning of a thrilling summer filled with Spider-Man content (details to follow soon).

The release of “Spider-Verse 2” on Disney+ is a result of a deal between Sony Pictures and Disney’s streaming service. This groundbreaking agreement allows Sony’s Spider-Man movies to be streamed on Disney+ for viewing in the Pay 2 TV Window, following an initial 18-month run on Netflix.

Initially, Morbius profited from the deal, but it’s Spider-Verse 2 that will be the inaugural animated Spider-Man film available on Disney+ in the United States. Previously, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has been streamed in countries like the U.K. and Canada, but it hasn’t yet been released on Disney+ in the U.S.

Beginning June 2, 2023, “Across the Spider-Verse” will be showing in cinemas, and it has also been made available for streaming on Netflix. This highly anticipated animated film features Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson, among others, and has garnered immediate praise upon its debut. On Rotten Tomatoes, it boasts a 95% approval rating from critics and a 94% positive response from audiences.

This Summer Will Stay Huge for Spider-Man Fans
