Spider-Man 4 Villain Rumors Could Be a Game-Changer or Total Disaster

In life, there are just three absolute truths: death happens, taxes must be paid, and TopMob will always be sharing news about potential villains for Spider-Man 4.

Indeed, for a brief moment we’ve paused our coverage of Lumon updates, scooping on Hope Valley’s latest news, and dissecting the mysterious world of Yellowstone (which seems to be about cowboys managing a railroad station, if my guess is correct). Instead, let’s revisit the topic of Marvel films.

What’s causing all the excitement lately? It seems that there have been numerous talks about who the next antagonist for Peter Parker in the upcoming Marvel film will be, and a fresh favorite has arisen.

Based on whispers and tips from sources like Daniel RPK (remember to approach this with a touch of skepticism), it’s been suggested that Wallcrawler could potentially face off against the Spider Queen. Now, I can only imagine the question crossing your mind – “Who?

Who’s Spider Queen?

🤔

If you’ve never ventured into the world of comic books, it’s probably unfamiliar territory for you to encounter characters like the Spider Queen (also known as Adriana Soria). She’s a relatively minor villain, much like Swarm, Stunner, and Digger, if you happen to recognize any of these names. In that case, my condolences on your time spent (if you consider spending time on such characters as wasting it). The Spider Queen boasts an array of peculiar and captivating abilities.

Essentially, she possesses a remnant of genetic code resembling that of insects (although it’s worth noting spiders are arachnids, not insects), which gives her extraordinary physical power, control over insects, and the capacity to transform humans into hybrid beings with insect-like characteristics.

You might not be familiar with Adriana since she’s only appeared in two Spider-Man stories. One of these stories is considered one of the best modern Spidey tales, but the other one can get a bit confusing or chaotic. With that in mind, if Spider-Man 4 includes her character, I find myself both eager and slightly apprehensive about how it will unfold.

The good

Initially, if Adriana plays the antagonist role, this upcoming Spider-Man film could potentially follow the storyline of Spider-Island. This captivating saga involved Manhattan Island residents receiving spider abilities due to the Spider Queen’s spider virus (with a little assistance from the Jackal, but introducing him into the MCU could lead to complex issues). As her powers grew, the Queen manipulated everyone on the island into transforming into massive spider creatures, which she aimed to employ for world domination.

The scenario was as absurd as it appeared and fittingly comical, given the extravagant narratives we’ve grown accustomed to in comic books. Nevertheless, what truly elevated this storyline was the introduction of multiple characters from Peter’s past possessing spider-like abilities (a development that did annoy Spidey,) and I believe there’s significant cinematic potential hidden within it.

Picture this scenario: Suppose Doctor Strange or Captain America swapped powers with Pete. Instead of his usual magical abilities or vibranium-enhanced wings, they’d wield Peter’s power set. That could lead to some intriguing twists and action sequences. But beyond the visual spectacle, this narrative stood out because it echoed a crucial truth: While anyone might possess Peter’s immense power, not everyone grasps the burden of responsibility that comes with it (in other words, while half the city uses their powers to sow chaos, the other half are too timid to intervene and make a difference).

Truthfully speaking: Following the events of No Way Home, it’s clear that Pete is in dire need of a victory. He’s lost the remainder of his family, his friends seem to have abandoned him, and his one true love doesn’t recognize him at all, not even knowing Adam. A triumphant rescue of his beloved city might be exactly what Spider-Man, or the old Web-Slinger as you may call him, requires after his disastrous previous mission.

The bad

Moving on to another harrowing tale of the Spider Queen, let’s delve into this chilling narrative from Spectacular Spider-Man Volume 2 issues #15-20. In this storyline, Peter Parker encounters the Spider Queen while the Avengers are embroiled in a fierce conflict orchestrated by Wanda Maximoff.

Throughout the narrative, Peter undergoes a gradual change – initiated by the Queen – into a Human-Spider hybrid. Despite his agonizing and unsettling metamorphosis, Peter successfully thwarts Adriana’s sinister plan (which aimed to eradicate all human life in New York). However, in the climax of the story, he ends up as an enormous spider… a pregnant one.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my thoughts on a remarkable twist from the comics – the demise of our beloved Spider-Man, who once graced our city as our friendly neighborhood hero. This event was followed by the emergence of an entirely new Peter Parker, yes, it’s true! Now, I understand your concerns about such a melancholic turn for a Spider-Man tale. Frankly, it was a heavy burden even for many comic book enthusiasts back then, and this storyline has largely fallen into obscurity within the Marvel universe.

Clearly, Spiderman is a cherished figure with global adoration. It’s hard to imagine him experiencing a gruesome metamorphosis reminiscent of Seth Brundle (though I can’t speak for Cameron Frew), given the trials he’s already faced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If rumors suggest that the team behind Spider-Man 4 might consider a horror adaptation, it’s fair to say that such a move could potentially strain the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, let’s be clear for a moment: the possibility of Marvel and Disney deciding to produce a Spider-Man horror film is practically negligible; instead, it’s the team at Sony who have expressed interest in Madame Web that might cause concern.
