Spider-Man 2 Developers Explain How PS5 Pro Elevates The Game's Visuals

As someone who’s been swinging through the concrete jungle of gaming since the days of the original Spider-Man trilogy, I can confidently say that Insomniac Games has outdone themselves yet again with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5 Pro. The visual upgrades are nothing short of breathtaking, making it feel like I’m not just playing a game, but living the web-slinging adventure myself.

Last year, Spider-Man 2 was among the top PlayStation 5 games available, and it was logical for it to be one of the initial PS5 Pro-optimized titles. The debate now is whether the visual enhancements in the game justify the $700 price of the PlayStation 5 Pro console. To help players decide, some developers of Spider-Man 2 have created a video demonstrating the game’s improved performance on the more powerful system.

Insomniac Games creative director Bryan Intihar stated that when gamers play Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5 Pro, they are enjoying the definitive Spider-Man adventure on the PlayStation 5 platform,” said Intihar. During the demonstration, he highlighted a feature allowing players to propel Spider-Man through New York City at 60 frames per second while maintaining the game’s high-quality graphics, as provided by its fidelity mode.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the intricate details of Spider-Man 2, as brilliantly highlighted by Senior Art Director Jacinda Chew. The game is brimming with reflective elements, from the shimmering waters and towering skyscraper windows to even Spider-Man’s very own goggles. In the midst of all the action unfolding on screen at any given moment, these subtle reflections might easily escape our notice. But with the powerful PS5 Pro, those reflections become a captivating feature that we can truly appreciate and cherish.

Despite the possibility that this upgrade may not completely persuade all gamers, Intihar is content knowing that players have the freedom to decide their preferred way to enjoy Spider-Man 2 on Sony’s mid-generation update.

PlayStation 5 Pro will launch on November 7.
