Space Marine 2 - Matchmaking not Working, This Bug Is a Real Problem

As a veteran gamer with countless hours spent navigating the digital battlefields of Warhammer 40k and beyond, I must confess my disappointment with the current state of Space Marine 2’s multiplayer component. The matchmaking woes have left me longing for the days of dial-up connections and AOL chatrooms.

It appears that the trend of releasing games early for an additional cost is likely to persist. While this practice is generally accepted in single-player games, it can disadvantage players waiting for the official release date in multiplayer titles. For instance, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, which primarily focuses on single-player and cooperative gameplay, also includes a Player vs Player (PvP) component. Despite the presence of dedicated fans who enjoy multiplayer aspects, they encounter numerous issues such as server problems, long loading times, lags, crashes, and even CPU overheating.

Matchmaking not working in WH40k Space Marine 2

In a collaborative spirit, Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 can be played independently, but not entirely without interaction. Connecting with fellow gamers online seems to be tricky for some players as they find it challenging to locate human partners to team up with. It seems the matchmaking system is experiencing issues at present.

Some individuals propose solutions like disabling VPNs or activating crossplay as potential remedies, but these actions don’t appear to resolve the issue effectively. Additionally, one user suggests a workaround where you exit to the main menu, select “continue,” then return to the hub, supposedly fixing the matchmaking problems. However, there’s no concrete evidence that this method actually works.

It seems a maintenance period was implemented earlier, but unfortunately, it didn’t resolve the problem. Nevertheless, on the official Discord server of Space Marine 2, they have confirmed that the developers are still working diligently to enhance the connectivity. Here’s hoping this effort will successfully tackle the issue this time around.

Although the game has received an overwhelmingly positive response, it still comes with its own set of issues, such as missing weapons or controller malfunctions. Fingers crossed that Saber Interactive anticipated this surge in player numbers, but let’s also brace ourselves for potential downtime. Best of luck!
