Space Marine 2 Just Became A Whole Lot More Modder Friendly

Space Marine 2, to develop modifications (mods) by offering an official Modding Studio for their use.

On May 10th, Game Director Dmitry Grigorenko of Space Marine 2 unveiled and launched the Integration Studio. In a detailed post on the Space Marine 2 Modding Hub Discord, he discussed mod support for the game. He clarified that the Integration Studio is the same tool they use in-house for all gameplay development. Grigorenko added that editing anything related to SSL (Space Marine Language) has now become ten times quicker, safer, and more user-friendly with this new studio, as it eliminates the need for manual file editing in Notepad and reduces the risk of missing a bracket.

In its initial release, Grigorenko asserts that Integration Studio for modders will enable players to customize aspects such as level designs, game modifications, game mechanics, AI actions, the AI Director, combo systems, visual effects, and user interface and heads-up display components. He even unveiled rudimentary concept art depicting a potential “Fishing With Daddy Calgar” minigame, hinting at its feasibility with Space Marine 2’s innovative modding capabilities.

Few modern online shooters like Space Marine 2 currently receive mod support, making it delightful that Saber Interactive continues to back mods, despite prohibiting them from public matches last year. Anticipation builds as we approach the release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3, wondering what the community will create in this timeframe.
