The latest episode of South Park, which aired on November 12th, wasn’t created with the help of AI. This week’s show focused on OpenAI’s video tool, Sora, and added a surprising new development to the ongoing relationship between Donald Trump and Satan: a love triangle involving J.D. Vance, who is now competing for Trump’s affection, even though Satan is currently pregnant.
The episode starts with Butters creating embarrassing videos of his ex-girlfriend, Red McArthur, using a video editing app. Red gets even by making a video of Butters with the cartoon character Totoro and showing it to the whole school. Detective Harris, confused by the technology, begins searching for Totoro, mistakenly believing he’s harming children. The kids of South Park Elementary keep making increasingly inappropriate videos, leading Detective Harris on a wild goose chase as he tries to track down the animated characters involved.
While all this is happening, Peter Thiel has Cartman locked up in a hotel room. He kidnapped him during the earlier episode, believing Cartman was possessed – he thought Cartman’s constant laughter at a meme was proof – and could help prevent the birth of the Anti-Christ, also known as Satan’s butt baby. Thiel is sending Cartman’s mom fake videos created by AI, showing Cartman saying he’s fine and everything’s okay, and she believes them without question.
A White House aide, known only as Vance, convinced Trump to abandon a personal matter he anticipated would be troublesome. This interaction escalated into a disturbing and explicit encounter between Vance and Trump, described as involving demonic imagery.
In South Park, a detective takes the children to court hoping to expose the people creating disturbing videos. He then tracks down Peter Thiel by tracing the IP address of the videos Cartman sent to his mother and attempts to arrest him. During the search, the detective discovers security footage on Thiel’s computer showing Donald Trump and Vance engaging in a romantic encounter, which he then releases to the public. Satan decides to trust Trump’s claim that the footage is AI-generated. However, Trump immediately goes to kiss Vance after leaving their bed, leaving Satan in a difficult position. What will Satan do now?
