As a seasoned gamer with over a decade of experience under my belt, I have seen and played my fair share of MMOs. But during the Tennocon 2024 livestream for Soulframe, I felt a renewed sense of excitement and anticipation that I haven’t experienced in a long time. The opening scene with the bird flying over the war-torn landscape and the woman holding a baby was a captivating start to what looked like an immersive and intriguing storyline.
During Tennocon 2024 celebrations, Digital Extenses’ team for their latest multiplayer online game, Soulframe, presented a live broadcast featuring an hour of gameplay demonstrations, newly unveiled areas, and the initial scenes of the game.
The game begins with the image of a tiny bird soaring over an expansive meadow. Suddenly, the serene scene is shattered as a colossal army invades, marching towards a castle in the open area. The bird crashes into a window just in time to see a woman tenderly cradling a newborn infant. The narrator then engages the player with probing queries, and depending on their answers, the woman’s appearance will transform.
Later in the game, the stream takes us to several notable spots within the Soulframe universe. One of these is The Nightfold, a central hub where players can enhance their abilities, weapons, and other equipment. Subsequently, we witness the protagonist engaging in a battle with a band of knights on the expansive overworld map, armed with a colossal axe.
In this version of the story, the protagonist liberates animals trapped in a cavern. Subsequently, they encounter a formidable adversary named Nimrod. Armed with a large pronged weapon and capable of summoning thunderbolts, Nimrod poses a significant threat. Upon overcoming Nimrod, the hero stumbles upon another cave inhabited by an Elder–but unfortunately, the demo ended before we could engage in dialogue with them.
At the moment, there isn’t a specified release date for Soulframe on the calendar. However, we know that it will be available for PCs once it goes live.
