Sophia Bush Joins ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ in Recurring Role

As a seasoned film enthusiast with a soft spot for medical dramas and heartwarming narratives, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the news of Sophia Bush joining the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy”! With her extensive background in playing doctors, not to mention her impressive resume spanning across various genres, she seems like a perfect fit for the role.

“One Tree Hill” and “Chicago P.D.” star Sophia Bush is about to put on some scrubs.

Bush secures a recurring appearance in the 21st season of “Grey’s Anatomy,” taking on the character of Dr. Cass Beckman, a charming, lively, yet slightly disorganized trauma surgeon.

She will make her “Grey’s” debut on the sixth episode of the season, which airs Nov. 7 on ABC.

In 2022, Bush took on the dual roles of producer and lead actress in the CBS medical drama “Good Sam,” where she portrayed Dr. Sam Griffith, a cardiac fellow temporarily filling in as hospital director. Prior to this, her acting resume included appearances in shows like “Chicago Med” and “Nip/Tuck,” both set within medical centers.

Apart from her role in “Love, Victor,” “Partners,” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” on TV, she has also appeared in movies such as “The Narrows,” “Incredibles 2,” and “False Positive.

Beyond becoming a member at Seattle Presbyterian, I’m thrilled to be stepping back into the shoes of Brooke Davis for the Netflix sequel series of “One Tree Hill.” Alongside my dear co-star Hilarie Burton Morgan, who brought Peyton Sawyer to life, I’ll be executive producing this exciting new chapter. We also run a delightful rewatch podcast called “Drama Queens” with Bethany Joy Lenz, where we share our thoughts on the original series.

In addition to hosting her own podcast titled “Work in Progress,” she has also had notable figures like Kamala Harris (in past discussions focusing on women’s healthcare access), Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric, and Natalie Portman as recent guests.

She is represented by CAA and Entertainment 360.

Deadline broke the news.
