Thirty years ago in this very month, Sony introduced the original PlayStation to North America, marking the start of an exciting new phase in console gaming wars. To honor the 30th anniversary of this memorable event, Sony has released a video that evokes nostalgia for those who remember the distinctive sounds the PlayStation produced when it was powered on.

Sony encouraged fans to reminisce about their favorite PlayStation moments by using the hashtag #PlayStation30Memories. Some heartwarming and memorable fan experiences may be included in a special commemorative video.

Upon his retirement in 2023, the former CEO of PlayStation, Jim Ryan, was gifted with a PlayStation 5 adorned in the classic PlayStation 1 style.
