Sony has roped in Blackpink member and actress Lisa for assisting in the promotion of PlayStation 5. In a fresh promotional video, she features alongside her song “Lifestyle,” with scenes displaying Lisa gripping a PS5 controller as snippets from popular Sony games like Helldivers II, Marathon, and Astro Bot illuminate the screen.
This video is highly appealing, and it’s a significant acquisition for Sony since Lisa and Blackpink have massive popularity. Notably, she just debuted as an actress in the latest season of HBO’s The White Lotus, portraying the character Mook.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined forces with Sony, adding my name to the esteemed list of celebrities they’ve collaborated with to boost the PlayStation brand. Previously, Sony partnered with basketball legend LeBron James for an array of accessories personally designed by him as part of their PlayStation Playmakers program. This initiative brings together renowned figures like myself and Sony for various projects.
As a devoted fan, I’ve noticed the diverse roster of talents that include the hilarious King Bach, the agile BMX maestro Nigel Sylvester, the inspiring WNBA sensation NaLyssa Smith, the gridiron giants Ja’Marr Chase and CeeDee Lamb, and the soccer superstars Lisa Zimouche and Romelu Lukaku.
Sony is thrilled to collaborate regularly with these ‘Playmakers’, sharing their enthusiasm for video games and PlayStation, offering exclusive sneak peeks and backstage passes, as well as unique opportunities for enthusiasts, according to Eric Lempel. The ‘Playmakers’ represent a vibrant community of talent that will keep developing and progressing; they are an integral part of our mission to spark gaming fans’ interest and demonstrate the strength of play.
The PlayStation 5 has proven to be a significant triumph for Sony, with approximately 80 million units sold so far, demonstrating comparable success to the PS4 despite initial hurdles at launch due to COVID-19 and logistical challenges. As for the future, the PlayStation 6 is on the horizon, but details about the system are scarce at this early stage.
Sony’s most recent major PS5-exclusive title is Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, created by Hideo Kojima, and it’s available right now. Other exclusive releases on the horizon include Ghost of Yotei in October and Saros in 2026.
