Someone actually made a Daredevil game, and for a fan-made title, it’s seriously impressive

Itch.io has emerged as a prime destination for independent game developers to gain visibility, and games such as Undertale, Celeste, and Night in the Woods demonstrate the great success that can stem from this platform. If you’re on the hunt for overlooked treasures, that’s where you’ll strike gold. I believe I’ve stumbled upon one myself. It’s a complimentary, non-commercial fan game centered around my second favorite Marvel superhero – Daredevil (with Silver Surfer remaining my ultimate favorite, seriously, let’s have a decent game developed for him soon). However, getting back to the topic: A free Daredevil game is available now, allowing us all to enjoy what we should have experienced earlier.

A free Daredevil fan game that nails it

Speaking of the latest “Daredevil” game, it was launched way back in 2003 on the Game Boy Advance. So, you might get a sense of how outdated it may appear. Even if you’re a big fan of classic games like me, it’s high time we stepped into something more contemporary.

As a die-hard Daredevil fan, I can’t help but reminisce about the tantalizing prospect of playing “Daredevil: The Man Without Fear” back in 2004 for PS2, Xbox, and PC. Alas, it was nothing more than a pipe dream, as Marvel and Sony disagreed creatively and the project was unfortunately abandoned. Ever since then, I’ve been keeping my fingers crossed, especially after the TV series took off in 2015. However, to this day, my dreams of donning the Daredevil costume in a video game have yet to be realized.

Finally, the wait is done (or almost), and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Together with Haez, we’ve crafted a free Daredevil game that’s now available on itch.io. This isn’t my first rodeo in the gaming world – I’ve also dabbled in creating a Deadpool game.

This game is a stealth-based one, as you might have guessed, but it also allows for more aggressive play if that’s your preference. We’ve equipped you with a ‘devil sense’ for enhanced awareness, silent takedowns, and a reliable Billy Club for added impact. However, the standard attacks pack quite a punch on their own. I must say, the finisher animations are more impressive than anticipated.

We have an exciting opportunity at hand – a mission to save a hostage that fits right into the kind of action we’ve been eagerly waiting for. I hope a major game studio considers this project and gives the Daredevil character the high-quality video game he deserves, especially since the TV series has returned (please don’t cancel it again, I beg you!). And while they’re at it, they might want to consider hiring these developers – they seem to understand perfectly what fans like us are looking for.

Well, I simply couldn’t keep it to myself. Letting you all know about it now. By the way, I must be off, back to work on earning that “Born Again” trophy.
