Somehow, Star Wars Has An Official Map Again

Fans of Star Wars can delve deeper into the galaxy far, far away as Disney has unveiled an authentic map encompassing the franchise. This extensive chart includes over 200 planets, ranging from well-known destinations like Coruscant and Naboo to more recent discoveries such as Ghorman and Exegol. The official Star Wars platform hints at future updates to this galactic guide.

In most forms of Star Wars entertainment, such as movies, TV shows, and supplementary content, the galaxy of Star Wars has been the main backdrop. However, since George Lucas sold the franchise to Disney in 2012, things have become somewhat confusing due to some stories (and their respective locations) being moved out of the canon universe and into the expanded universe known as Star Wars Legends. Disney, on the other hand, has been developing its own continuous storyline across the sequel trilogy, the High Republic era, and various other projects. If you’re curious about a specific planet within this galaxy, there’s a comprehensive list available for exploration.

As I scour the map, tracing familiar territories from my favorite Star Wars films such as The Phantom Menace, Rogue One, and The Last Jedi, I can’t help but notice a few planets that seem to have been featured or hinted at in video games like Star Wars Outlaws and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Among them is Tanalorr, nestled within the Varada sector. Given its significant role in Star Wars lore, I can hardly wait to see how Respawn Entertainment will breathe new life into it for the upcoming Star Wars Jedi sequel.

Besides Star Wars: Zero Company, which is currently in development and focuses on turn-based tactics during the final stages of the Clone Wars, there are several other Star Wars games in progress. On the big screen, fans can look forward to The Mandalorian and Grogu next year, followed by Star Wars: Starfighter in 2027.
