Some Switch 2 Owners Have Holes In Their Screen Thanks To GameStop

At midnight, the release of the Switch 2 in the U.S. generally went well, but some buyers were met with an unpleasant shock upon opening their packages at home. It appears that a particular GameStop store overused the stapler, causing customers to find unsightly punctures on the pristine screens of their newly acquired consoles.

Based on a Reddit post (by Wario64), some customers visited a GameStop store in Staten Island and bought what appeared to be a Switch 2 console. Interestingly, their receipt was attached to the box using a staple. Given that the Switch 2 box has thin cardboard, and the console’s screen is located beneath the flap, it isn’t unexpected that a quick strike with a stapler could potentially harm the screen.

It appears that a GameStop store inadvertently damaged Switch 2 screens by using a stapler to secure receipts on the boxes, and one person reported their device as well as others from the same store were affected. This incident was discussed at www.reddit.com/r/GameStop/.
