Players of Overwatch are advocating for a balance adjustment (nerf) on the powerful Damage Per-Second (DPS) character, Sojourn. This character has grown even more formidable due to the addition of Hero Perks.
Refreshing the once stationary feel of Overwatch, Hero Perks has revitalized the game, enabling players to advance their characters and acquire novel skills during a match. Although Hero Perks have generally been well-received among the community, there remains significant discussion about hero equilibrium, primarily because the mechanism is still in its early stages.
Among the notable beneficiaries of the Hero Perks update is Sojourn, a character who has consistently demonstrated strength since her debut and has become even more formidable with the new perks she’s been granted. While not every perk is equally powerful, Sojourn’s certainly outshines several other characters in the game. Her current power level has led some Overwatch players to advocate for immediate adjustments, or “nerfs”, to her character.
Overwatch players are getting tired of seeing Sojourn
In my enthusiasm as a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but express my fervent support for a balance adjustment regarding Sojourn. Frankly, I’ve grown weary to the point of discomfort, finding her omnipresence in virtually every game I play a tad overwhelming.
They stated, “In almost every game I compete in, she’s there without a doubt. She absolutely controls every game…she’s so powerful and out of balance, it’s almost comical.
During her gameplay, Sojourn enjoyed several significant benefits that enhanced her performance. Among these minor perks, she can choose to either boost her maximum ammo capacity or her energy during the Ultimate ability. However, the most impressive perk appears to be Dual Thrusters from the major perks, as it grants an extra Power Slide charge and alters her jump height.

One player commented on her impressive skillset: she can swiftly glide at incredible speeds, jump into the air while spinning rapidly, and adjust her attack area in fights. This makes her seem overwhelming in one-on-one battles. Additionally, she’s often chosen over Widow due to her enhanced combat agility, useful abilities, consistent damage output, powerful ultimate, and near instant-kill capability with her railgun.
Streamer NEUU showcased Sojourn’s latest mobility on Twitch, zooming around the map with a slingshot maneuver, catching unsuspecting opponents off guard while maintaining an upward trajectory. In addition to this, NEUU utilized Sojourn’s Overcharged perk, boosting Overdrive’s maximum energy capacity to 150, enabling her to deliver powerful single shots more efficiently against targets.
Players of Overwatch 2 are finding their footing with the fresh Hero Perks, understanding that the system may have some rough edges due to being in its early stages. However, it’s crucial for Blizzard to ensure a well-balanced game by refining and adjusting these perks as much as necessary, including addressing characters like Sojourn who seem to stand out too prominently.
