Streamer Sodapoppin smashed his screen in anger following an unfortunate turn of events during a live Mario Kart World race, causing damage to the monitor.

After a long wait, the Nintendo Switch 2 hit the market on June 5, 2025, and quickly emerged as the company’s most successful console launch in subsequent days.

A significant number of console pre-orders were delivered on the release date, sparking a rush as millions logged onto the platform to enjoy Mario Kart World right away.

Many individuals on Twitch are simultaneously tuning in to watch prominent content creators like Sodapoppin play their preferred games, making him one of the top players in the community.

On June 11th, Soda’s live broadcast of Mario Kart World took an unfortunate turn when a racing incident caused him to accidentally break his monitor.

In one of the races, Soda needed to finish in at least 16th position or higher to progress to the next round, considering there are 24 characters participating. With Soda being in 16th place, several other racers still had an opportunity to overtake him.

Sadly, Soda got struck by a Bullet Bill power-up unexpectedly from behind, causing him to fall off the map. In a burst of anger, the popular Twitch streamer tossed the controller at his screen.

“I broke my monitor,” he said. “My monitor’s just straight up broken. Yeah, that’s cracked.”

Initially, my audience was doubtful when they thought I hadn’t genuinely shattered the screen. To put their doubts to rest, I decided to switch on my webcam and reveal the telltale cracks for all to see.

Twice now, at Mario Kart World, Soda has lost his temper following its release on June 9. That day, an incident during a race caused him to damage the controller he was operating.
