In Daytona USA, the car is featured in Fighters Megamix. Similarly, Negan from The Walking Dead appears in Tekken 7. Yoda and Darth Vader are characters in Soul Calibur IV. Guest characters are common in fighting games, especially those who join the fight from other games. SNK has announced that Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves will also include guest characters, with international soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed to be part of the playable roster.
Last year hinted at a partnership between Fatal Fury and Cristiano Ronaldo, but aside from a short video, no further updates were given. However, a fresh trailer recently confirmed that Ronaldo will be part of the City Of the Wolves team alongside Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui, and others. The gameplay in the trailer also showcased his unique abilities.
Just as one might guess, Ronaldo exhibits a combat style that heavily relies on kicks. He employs various sweeps, tackles, and even an impressive acrobatic kick. Interestingly, he can create energy balls seemingly out of nowhere, manipulate them with his feet, and then hurl them at his adversary. The complete roster of his moves, along with his in-game character background, has been published on the game’s official site.
In the City of The Wolves, it was not Ronaldo who was initially announced as a guest character, but rather Ken Masters and Chun-Li from Street Fighter were revealed for the game’s initial season of downloadable content. However, it appears that Ronaldo will be playable at the game’s launch, meaning he would be the first to appear in South Town among the new Fatal Fury guests, effectively beating the Street Fighters to the streets before they even arrive.
The action-packed game “Fatal Fury: City of Wolves” is set to release on April 24, available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
