Alex Cooper is bringing together reality TV stars for a new competition series. Called Unwell Winter Games, the show features stars like Dakota Mortensen and Demi Engemann from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and Huda Mustafa from Love Island USA. They’ll compete in both mental and physical challenges in Park City, Utah. The series, launching April 6th on Cooper’s UnWell Network, will release a new episode each day for four days. The cast also includes stars from Love Island UK, The Traitors, and The Bachelor, plus a surprising appearance by Anna Delvey. Comedian Adam Waheed hosts, with commentary from TikTok’s Graydon Cutler (known for his cocktails) and comedian Grace O’Malley. With this cast, the series is sure to be full of drama.
The show was filmed last winter, which is why Mortensen was cast. He recently gained attention due to a viral video involving his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Frankie Paul, leading to the cancellation of her season of The Bachelorette. ABC and Disney pulled the season just before it was set to air after the three-year-old video of a conflict between them surfaced. Although Paul had previously reached a legal agreement regarding an arrest at the time, there’s currently an ongoing investigation into allegations of domestic violence involving both her and Mortensen, with claims of abuse coming from both sides. Fans are upset that Mortensen is appearing on a new show so soon after his ex’s season was canceled, questioning why a company that supports women would give a platform to someone accused of abuse. One commenter asked, “As a company that empowers women, why are we giving abusive men a platform?”
