As a movie enthusiast who’s been around long enough to remember the golden age of rock and roll, I must say that Saturday Night Live’s recent sketch about the Bob Dylan biopic, “A Complete Unknown,” was a delightful throwback! The portrayal of Timothée Chalamet‘s character having a Brat Summer had me chuckling, though I’m not quite sure what it entails – maybe something the young folks are into these days.

On Saturday evening, “Saturday Night Live” took a humorous jab at one of the hotly anticipated movies of the festive season – the Timothée Chalamet starring Bob Dylan biopic titled “A Complete Unknown,” set to release on Christmas Day. They did so by creating a sketch that depicted the movie’s grand premiere red-carpet event.

Chloe Fineman, portraying Timothée Chalamet, confessed to experiencing a wild and nutty “Brat Summer” (a term linked to Charli XCX’s trend). With an excited tone, Fineman said, “Wow, it was insane! Absolutely nuts,” mimicking Chalamet.

The made-up Buzzfeed journalist, upon seeing James Austin Johnson resembling Bob Dylan, exclaimed excitedly, “Wow, look at that! It’s none other than the legendary Bob Dylan himself!” Then, addressing Johnson as if he were Dylan, she inquired if he too had experienced a Brat Summer.

Dylan asked, ‘What do you mean?’ The Buzzfeed reporter echoed, “You had a ‘bratty’ summer, right?” or simply, “Did you have a ‘mischievous’ summer, Dylan?

Dylan, known for his rough voice, took the question in a different direction, thinking it was about sausages called bratwurst. Fineman, as Chalamet, replied, “Dylan, I adore this man!” Then he added, “I appreciate you too, but discussing sausages has made me crave them. I’ve heard there’s a buffet at the end of this event, so if you don’t mind, I need to go check it out.

Unexpectedly, Bruce Springsteen joined Dylan and Chalamet on the red carpet. “Baby I was made for this movie,” he sang, a wink to his “Born to Run” tune. “Hey Boss, did you grab something tasty?” wondered Dylan. To which Springsteen replied, “Indeed, Bob. The atmosphere may be small but the taste is bold.

When asked about his favorite Chalamet movie, Springsteen replies, “I’m a fan of the ‘Wonka’ film. I hail from a town that resembled a chocolate factory in my youth. They closed it down one day. My father came home tipsy that night, and my mother left with an Oompa Loompa – though as always with my tales, that incident is fictional.

Oh dear, here’s rock icon, Bono approaching,” the interviewer notes. When asked about his ‘Brat Summer’, Bono responds, “I didn’t experience a Brat Summer. That was out of the question due to the intense heat caused by global warming. It’s crucial that we take action immediately.

Referring to a fresh Netflix movie set around holidays, Bono remarks, “I recently watched a documentary titled ‘Frosty Warming’ that showcases the disastrous impacts of global warming.

Actor Paul Mescal from “Gladiator II,” graced the stage for the first time as host during tonight’s broadcast, featuring musician Shaboozey as our special guest.
