‘SNL’ Breakout Marcello Hernandez Joins Kevin Hart in Netflix Bachelor Party Comedy ’72 Hours’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Marcello Hernandez is about to embark on a fictional three-day bender with Kevin Hart.

The breakout comedian from “Saturday Night Live” has secured a significant supporting part in Kevin Hart’s upcoming film, titled “72 Hours,” which is set for release on Netflix. In this movie, Hart portrays a 40-something executive struggling to rescue his faltering career. He decides to join a group of young adults on an exhilarating bachelor party trip during the weekend – a chance he takes after being accidentally included in a group text conversation.

Netflix declined to comment on the casting news.

Hernandez has been chosen as the Best Man for the wedding, as well as the leader of the bachelor party. The groomsmen have yet to be finalized.

Hernandez, a popular Cuban-Dominican actor known for his charming “Weekend Update” confessionals and viral skits as Domingo, the recurring character who seduces a married woman (Chloe Fineman) in a parody of Sabrina Carpenter’s song “Espresso, has just landed his first major feature role. Last month, he also joined the voice cast for Paramount’s second sequel in the animated “Angry Birds” series, alongside KeKe Palmer and Jason Sudeikis.

Tim Story, known for his work in comedies like ‘Barbershop’ and ‘The Blackening’, is set to direct ’72 Hours’. This marks the fifth time Story has collaborated with actor Kevin Hart, having worked together on ‘Think Like a Man’ and the ‘Ride Along’ series. Their past projects opened at number one and have collectively grossed over $445 million worldwide.

Matt Mider, Kevin Burrows, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg crafted the screenplay, with Hurwitz and Schlossberg working on the initial version. John Davis will take on production duties, alongside Story.

This weekend, Hernandez will bring an end to the most recent run of “Saturday Night Live.” He is associated with talent agencies CAA, LBI, and lawyer Patti Felker.
