Sniper Elite: Resistance Revealed At Gamescom With A New Main Character

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I can’t help but feel a twinge of excitement at the announcement of Sniper Elite: Resistance. Having played every installment since the series began back in 2005, I’ve grown fond of Harry Hawker and Karl Fairburne alike, so seeing them share the spotlight is quite intriguing.

During Gamescom Opening Night Live’s pre-show, Rebellion Developments unveiled Sniper Elite: Resistance. As shown in the initial trailer, this installment will partly focus on the battlefront in France. The character Harry Hawker, who has been utilized as a secondary player character in co-op sessions for past games, is now taking center stage in a narrative that runs concurrently with the events of Sniper Elite 5. In other words, while Karl Fairburne remains part of the series, this time around Harry Hawker will be the lead character.

In this game, we anticipate numerous X-ray scenes depicting skulls bursting and a significant probability of having the opportunity to fire at Adolf Hitler’s sole testicle, given its historical accuracy and continuity with the series. Moreover, multiplayer modes, including the PvP mode called Invasion, will be reintroduced in the game.

Resistance is the newest addition to a series of third-person stealth-shooter games that began in 2005. Throughout the storyline, you play as Fairburne, a secret agent from the Office of Strategic Services during World War II, who has completed operations in North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany.

The game can be played on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, personal computers running Windows OS, and both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Additionally, it will automatically become available on Xbox Game Pass upon release.
