At Ludwig’s Mario Kart tournament, professional Super Smash Bros Melee player Joseph ‘Mang0’ Marquez was temporarily banned from Twitch for inappropriately harassing female streamers while under the influence of alcohol.
After parting ways with C9, Mang0 continues to face consequences such as being disqualified from a major Melee tournament this year (Super Nova), and being prohibited from participating in upcoming Ludwig events.
On the 21st of June, Mang0 targeted several streamers, including ExtraEmily, during Ludwig’s Switch 2 Mario Kart World Cup tournament known as “Beerio Kart.” In this unique event, competitors had to consume their drinks before the race ended, or they would be disqualified.
Even though several days have elapsed since the incident occurred, on June 25th, Marquez received a ban from the Amazon-owned platform.

Mang0 banned on Twitch after being dropped by Cloud 9 and huge Melee event
As of June 25, Mang0’s Twitch account has been made inaccessible.
The channel you’re trying to access is currently not available because it has broken the rules set by Twitch’s community guidelines or terms of use.
It’s uncertain how long the Smash God is facing suspension, and it’s unclear which community guidelines he allegedly broke. Twitch has rules against sexual harassment, and they also specify that they don’t allow self-destructive behavior even if it’s presented as a joke or stunt meant to amuse.
On Twitch, Marquez hasn’t only faced a ban this time; back in 2021, he was temporarily suspended due to an incident where it seemed like he passed out while under the influence during a live stream.
After his recent ban on Twitch, Marquez has faced further consequences as his sponsor, C9, decided to discontinue their partnership with him due to a controversy. Consequently, Super Nova (formerly known as Super Smash Con) declared that he would not be permitted to participate in the tournament. Mang0, currently the champion in both singles and doubles at the supermajor, remains unbeaten.

They emphasized that ensuring the safety and dignity of our guests is our top priority. This choice was guided by both the conduct guidelines for our event and the standards set by our collaborators.
Currently, Mang0 is pledging to address his alcohol issue and assertedly started exploring rehabilitation centers as an option.
Reflecting on some tough times in my past, I’ve noticed a recurring theme: alcohol has always been present. I realize that my words may not hold much weight at this moment, and alcohol does not in any way justify my actions, but I pledge to overcome this challenge and prove to you that I can achieve greater heights as a person, free from the influence of alcohol. This was his comment on X.
My plan now is to concentrate on genuine healing. I’ve begun my exploration of rehabilitation centers, and I’ll admit myself once I locate a suitable match for my needs.
Mang0 himself expresses agreement with any potential future bans, stating that he has always aimed for the best outcome in the Melee scene.
