Skyrim Grandma Ends Streaming Retirement To Play Oblivion Remastered

Shirley Curry, also known as “Skyrim Grandma”, gained popularity within the gaming community by posting videos of herself playing Skyrim. Yet, Curry announced she was retiring from streaming due to boredom last year. However, her retirement has been short-lived, as she’s now back in action, playing the newly released remastered version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

2 days ago, Curry posted her initial Oblivion video, with another following the next day. Though she was proficient in Skyrim, Curry openly confesses that she’s still figuring out how to navigate Oblivion Remastered. Luckily, her videos have garnered helpful comments from viewers eager to assist her in overcoming the game’s challenging sections. Gratefully receiving these tips, Curry has thanked her followers for their support.

At 89 years old, Curry might be the most senior video game streamer. Her fan base primarily revolves around the Elder Scrolls games, as she has declared no interest in playing Starfield, despite it also being produced by Bethesda, the same company that publishes the Elder Scrolls series.

In appreciation for her devotion to Skyrim, Bethesda asked Curry to allow them to use her image in 2019, making her character appear as an NPC in The Elder Scrolls VI. However, the much-anticipated sequel is not expected for several years yet and doesn’t have a confirmed release date at this point.

2021 has seen Oblivion Remastered as the third most popular game sold so far, trailing only Monster Hunter World: Iceborne and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in the top spots at first and second place respectively.
